Power Network Tycoon
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Power Network Tycoon is a power grid simulation and strategy game where you build and maintain a high-voltage power network. Build power infrastructure, monitor resources, research upgrades, adapt to environmental challenges, keep up with energy demands and protect your island community!
Start small by placing power generators, substations, and power lines. With greater demand brings resource constraints, safety risks, and exposure to natures challenges. Invest wisely in research, upgrades, and safety measures to ensure a stable and efficient power supply.

Developed by a Power Engineer
The game is a modern take on an often oversimplified genre, now with advanced power grid management and industry-inspired simulation mechanics. It uses advanced physics-based calculations found in industrial electrical design software and challenges you to make decisions that reflect industry best practices, built from the ground up to be easy to learn, but hard to master.

Protect Your Citizens
You'll be responsible for preventing electrical accidents and protecting your citizens. Assess ground potential rise under fault conditions, measure electromagnetic field strengths, and upgrade equipment to minimize the risk of electrical overloading. Failure to prioritize safety could lead to unhappy customers, outages, and worse!

Become An Expert
As the island community grows, your expertise running the Power Grid will be put to the test. You'll have the opportunity to upgrade and expand your network by building new power generators, power lines, substations and supporting infrastructure.

Overcome Challenges
Mother Nature can throw unexpected challenges your way, but as a resilient Engineer, you're always prepared. Storms, heatwaves and other extreme weather events will put your skills to the test. Upgrade your infrastructure, strengthen power lines and monitor the weather to mitigate the impact of these natural disasters. Balancing resilience and costs is crucial as you work to keep the lights on.

Every decision shapes how your network performs under pressure, how your power infrastructure holds up over time, and how your community grows. Plan carefully, think like an engineer, and see if your grid can stand the test.

Hi there,
It seems like saved games don't contain ongoing mission. I use save&load function a lot so it would be great if you can fix this. Thanks.
Hi, they don't at the moment. It saves have many you passed/failed and the reward from them. I've been thinking about including them in the save file although there is a lot going on as part of the missions. Thanks for the feedback.
Hi,
After playing with it a little longer I also found that load sharing settings between generators can't be saved, which could cause trouble after loading as smaller generator would instantly overloads.
That's something that should definitely save. It's getting a bit of a re-work in the new major update I'm releasing soon although I thought it worked at present. It does do a bit of shifting around though as it sums to 100% if you add or remove a generator. I'll check it out though.
Hey David,
I streamed my playthrough of your game (the video has chapters). Check it out:
This game was a lot to take in! I appreciate you helping me in my playthrough. From what I got to play I can tell that this is a real passion project with a lot of thought put into it. I enjoyed my time with the game and I liked the way the town built itself around you. The side quests that would pop-up were a great way to direct the player and give them an objective. The graphics looked great too. In terms of constructive feedback, the UI felt very overwhelming and took some getting used to. I was rushing but the layout still felt confusing to me. I appreciate all the pop-ups to help you understand it however for simulation games like this I think really figuring out an intuitive UI will really help new players engage with the game. It is how the entire game is played so it should be as smooth an experience as possible. I hope your game finds the niche audience it deserves because what you've made here is awesome!
Thanks for playing and I appreciate the feedback!
